Of course travel is fun. But getting visas is not. And unfortunately there are a lot of occasions where visas are required and the Tajikistan visa was necessary for me.

I call it the ‘visa dance’ because it’s usually such back and forth with embassies, over the phone, over email, in person, having a decent conversation, threatening, crying… a lot goes on. Tajikistan was my first difficult visa in a long series of many others, and it’s a story worth telling..
